In English, Engraving is only when you remove material with cutting tools to make the design. "Chasing" is when the shaping is done from the top side, and it looks like you did a little of that too on this piece.
This is very nice work, and well done.
English is not my language and there is a lot of things I'm try hard to describe!

I'm glad I could help. I only speak english well, and I know how hard it can be to find the right word when trying to talk to artists who don't speak much english. So I try to help when it is going the other way.
